The Armed Forces of the Czech Republic have formalized the acquisition of the Supacat Mk3 Extenda, a tactical vehicle based on the proven HMT platform, under a contract that strengthens industrial cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Czech defense industry.

The order is intended for the 601st Special Forces Group, a strategic unit responsible for offensive actions, reconnaissance, and support operations.

According to Supacat, the decision builds on the British Army’s long-standing investment in the platform. “This announcement confirms our unwavering conviction that the Supacat Mk3 Extenda provides the Czech armed forces not only with the best combat performance but also with substantial industrial partnerships,” said Phil Applegarth, company director.

Modular and Flexible Vehicle

The Extenda stands out for its modular architecture, which allows adaptation to different mission profiles. It can be equipped with specific modules such as communications systems, C-UAS, ISTAR, weapon kits, and additional armor. The model is available in both 4×4 and 6×6 versions, with left-hand or right-hand drive, ensuring flexibility for various operational scenarios.

The platform has already proven its effectiveness in British and allied missions, including operations in Afghanistan. The modular configuration allows the vehicle to be reconfigured throughout its service life, keeping pace with evolving tactical needs.

Czech Industry Participation

The contract includes significant local industrial participation through the company LPP, Supacat’s partner in the country. “The 601st will have the best robust vehicle on the market, while the Czech economy will benefit from the substantial share of industrial participation entrusted to us by Supacat,” said Miroslav Zizka, director of LPP.

Zizka also emphasized the cost-effectiveness of the acquisition, noting that the prices obtained are consistent with those paid by the British Army. Production will be supported by an already established line in the UK, leveraging a mature supply chain and economies of scale.

A Milestone for Export Strategy

For SC Group, Supacat’s parent company, the order represents an important step forward. “This is great news. We have been developing our relationship with European defense forces attracted by the system’s performance, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness, but also by a vehicle 100% designed and developed in the UK,” said CEO Nick Ames.

The contract with the Czech Republic is seen as a strategic milestone, capable of opening doors to new European customers. Supacat continues to modernize the HMT line, integrating lessons learned from recent conflicts such as the war in Ukraine, and positioning the Jackal 3 Extenda as a cutting-edge solution for modern special operations.
